Component Replacement Chapter 4
Install an Add-in Card
The motherboard of the computers supports the following PCI slots.
• Two full-leng th P CI slots
• One half-length PCI slot
• One full-length ISA slot
Follow these steps to install an add-in card.
1. Follow the steps for Pre-configuration
on page 35.
2. Remove the computer cover as detailed in Remove the Cover
on page 36.
3. Remove the four screws
securing the chassis center
support bar (A) and detach
from the chassis (B).
4. Remove the four screws
securing expansion hold-down
bar (C) and detach from the
chassis (D).
5. Locate an empty PCI slot.
ATTENTION: Add-in cards are sensitive to ESD and require careful handling.
• Hold cards only by the edges.
• Do not touch the card connectors, components, or circuits.
• After removing an add-in card, place it on a flat, static-free surface, component
side up.
• Do not slide the card over any surface.
Use an antistatic wrist strap connected to the work surface, and properly
grounded tools and equipment.
