Troubleshoot the Modules Chapter 6

• Warning signal on the main screen next to the module – This occurs when

the connection to the module is broken.

• Message in a screen’s status line.

• Notification in the Tag Monitor – General module faults are also reported

in the Tag Monitor. Communication faults are reported in the input tags.

fault occurs or if the

module is inhibited

Status line provides information

on the module fault and on the

connection to the module

RSLogix 5000 software generates 1 s in

response to a module communication fault.

In this example, a communication fault

occurred between the controller and the

module, so the controller automatically

writes 1 s for all bits in the word.
